The Eli Young Band continue to build on the success of their current single, 'Crazy Girl,' with a platinum certification, signifying one million paid digital downloads. The track also inches closer to the top spot on Billboard, landing at No. 2 this week after spending a whopping 36 weeks on the chart.

Group member Jon Jones tells The Boot how he and his fellow band members had to coax writer and fellow country artist Lee Brice to allow them to record the track for their own project. "I said, 'Lee, I know you're thinking about putting it on your record, and it's great, but it actually sounds more us than it does you. [laughs] It would be really great if you let us record it,'" Jon recalls. "He's a super nice guy, and he writes a ton of great songs of his own to choose from. He was nice enough to let us record this one, and I think all parties thus far are pretty happy!"

'Crazy Girl' is the first single from Eli Young Band's 'Life at Best' album, their first effort under the Republic Nashville label home. The song is the band's first Top 10 single, as well as their first platinum-selling song.

Country 106.5 WYRK Throwdown - Vote for Lee!

Today's Throw Down: Lee Brice vs. Hunter Hayes

Hunter Hayes learned to play guitar at age 6. After that he seemed to have a knack for learning to play other instruments as well. He is very proficient on not only guitar, but bass, drums and keyboards as well. He moved to Nashville three years ago and was quickly signed to a record deal. He has also toured with Taylor Swift which has helped him build a large fan base in a short span of time.

Lee Brice has co-written songs for Tim McGraw and Garth Brooks. He has been with Curb Records since 2007. He has had a couple of hits already with “Love Like Crazy” and “Beautiful Every Time”.

Today's Throw Down features these two new guys battling it out. Tell us who YOU like better. To vote, click here.
