As 2011 winds down, most country artists use the holidays to take a little bit of time off, wind down, and recharge their batteries for the new year ahead. Although it’s a slow time of year for most, there isn’t much rest ahead for Lee Brice. He recently finished up as one of the acts on the “CMT On Tour: Luke Bryan tailgates & tanlines,” a touring stint he got to share with two of his buddies, Josh Thompson and Luke Bryan. With that tour now complete, Lee still has some scattered tour dates left before the end of the year and when he’s not on the road, chances are that you’ll be able to find him in the studio wrapping his new album. We recently caught up with the “Love Like Crazy” singer who chatted about touring with his buddies and the music that lies ahead.
Being able to perform in front of big crowds on the CMT Tour is something that was a lot of fun for Lee, as was getting to spend quality time with Josh and Luke. Although there was a lot of work to be done on the road, the longtime friends were able to squeeze in some fun while they traveled.
“It’s awesome,” Lee tells CountryMusicIsLove. “First of all, the fans [were] extremely killer. They came out ready to rock. It’s been an experience to have that many folks singing so loud. My other favorite part is Luke and I have been friends for 10 years, since he came to town, and Josh and I have known each other for 5 years. We’re always on the road right? But we’re not on the road together, so it’s you usually out on the road by yourself with your band. That can feel a little lonely in a way, so it’s nice to be around a true buddy. We get to hang out. With Josh and Luke we get to shoot bows. We get to act like normal dudes just hanging out like buddies. That’s a big thing for us.”
